世界遺產委員會遴選出新的九位會員國
根據世界遺產公約規定，每屆委員會成員的任期是六年，但多數的委員會成員認為四年一任已足矣，希望將機會交給其他會員國擔任。因此，自2005年於中國大陸西安舉辦的第十五屆年會之後，委員會的任期由六年改為四年一任。所以2007-2009最新的世界遺產委員會21個會員國分別是：加拿大（Canada）、古巴（Cuba）、以色列（Israel）、肯亞（Kenya）、馬達加斯加（Madagascar）、模里西斯（Mauritius）、摩洛哥（Morocco）、秘魯（Peru）、南韓（Republic of Korea）、西班牙（Spain）、突尼西亞（Tunisia）以及美國（United States of America）。而2007/10/26新選出來的委員包括有：澳洲（Australia）、巴林（Bahrain）、巴貝多（Barbados）、巴西（Brazil）、中國（China）、埃及（Egypt）、約旦（Jordan）、奈及利亞（Nigeria）、瑞典（Sweden），這九國是取代原本的Benin, Chili, India, Japan, Kuwait, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, and the Netherlands

Chile, India, Japan, Kuwait, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand and Norway.
Until the end of the 35th session of the General Conference of UNESCO (2009):
Canada, Cuba, Israel, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Morocco, Peru, Republic of Korea,
Spain, Tunisia, United States of America.
Until the end of the 34th session of the General Conference of UNESCO (2007): Benin,
Chile, India, Japan, Kuwait, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand and Norway.
Until the end of the 35th session of the General Conference of UNESCO (2009):
Canada, Cuba, Israel, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Morocco, Peru, Republic of Korea,
